One in five of the population in New Zealand today is Asian or from another ethnic group. There is cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD), which is a barrier to the communication between the mainstream and CALD communities.
The mental health service needs the government and all of its agencies must provide a customized solution for the CALD community in order to deliver effective mental health solutions to the CALD communities.
A registered nonprofit organization, The Foundation of Minority, works in tandem with CALD communities, governmental agencies, and other primary healthcare providers to develop and enhance mental health and other primary healthcare services in CALD communities.
No matter who they are, everyone is treated equally with respect in a good society. The Foundation of Minority is committed to assisting the ethnic minority communities in New Zealand in overcoming CALD hurdles in the areas of mental health and primary healthcare.
